Hey Nick, I just set your @bookhive.buzz as a "partner app", if you edit the automation, you'll now see a checkbox below the description that says "Mark as Blueprint"

5/17/26, 8:32 AM

Yes “any” is a bit broad 😆, but it would be great to be able to choose to add my @sifa.id , @leaflet.pub , @tangled.org , @grain.social , @bookhive.buzz et al profiles here.

Got my Book Hive account set up. A nice little implementation of AT Protocol. Really helps show that expansive potential of the Bluesky model: bookhive.buzz/profile/dran...

@bookhive.buzz I logged in for the first time, got the auth callback from my pds, but now I keep getting redirected between / and /home infinitely.

One thing I really like about ATProto/Atmosphere is the concept of a PDS, or Personal Data Server, storing all your account data. The other day someone announced https://bookhive.buzz, basically ATProto take on https://bookwyrm.social, but unlike Bookwyrm, which requires you to create a […]

FYI you can import books from StoryGraph to BookHive bookhive.buzz/import

5/13/26, 6:19 AM

The good thing is that, at least moving from StoryGraph to BookHive is possible anytime bookhive.buzz/import

5/13/26, 6:17 AM

Good thing you can just import your data from Goodreads and StoryGraph into BookHive if you ever want to bookhive.buzz/import

I can vouch too It was a pleasure to meet and talk with @nickthesick.com about @bookhive.buzz The app is in good hands, and he is very open about the development and decisions he does, and to collaborate with interoperability across apps Plus the app is open source github.com/nperez0111/b...

Trying out BookHive. I have a goal to get back to my reading piles a lot more this year (and beyond). I miss logging on Goodreads, but it's not conducive to having actual conversations about the books. It feels like everybody is trying to have the popular review that goes viral on another platform.

I'm personally quite excited to see all these people building open source apps like @bookhive.buzz on AT Proto, because it's really, really easy for non-technical people to engage with these services with their AT Proto-based accounts.

5/12/26, 4:53 PM

Hi @bookhive.buzz: I'm excited about this project but I do wonder why it needs to be able to follow/unfollow on bsky for me. I've seen this same functionality abused via the Twitter API in the past...

5/12/26, 4:49 PM

I met the owner/builder of @bookhive.buzz in person at the AT Proto conference a few months ago, and @nickthesick.com is a super nice guy. (He told me built Bookhive largely for his wife).

"A Spell For Chameleon" Piers Anthony on BookHive: bookhive.buzz/books/bk_ZgZ... 🐉📚 📚💙 #booksky this was the book that I was reading on the bus the day the school decided they wanted to expel me. they claimed I was threatening children younger than me with an exacto knife. Ben & other lil uns said

Anyone have a run down of @bookhive.buzz features/pros versus @thestorygraph.com? NB: a plurality of alternatives to goodreads is great! I don't want to convince people to move, I am more interested in what to tell library patrons about each service + only have experience w/ storygraph 💙📚 #booksky

5/12/26, 3:45 PM

So I've started a BookHive (AT protocol). I've read lots more than this since December, but much of it is self-pub and indy work that doesn't appear on the site yet for unknown reasons. Join me? Tons better than Goodreads already. (StoryGraph just isn't for me.)

Check out @bookhive.buzz - it’s an open source GoodReads like platform that runs on AT Proto and the guy who made it is a lovely person. bookhive.buzz/profile/fain...

5/12/26, 2:52 PM

Please note @bookhive.buzz will also work with any AT Proto account, not just Bluesky PDS accounts.

5/12/26, 2:47 PM

What do I mean when I say @bookhive.buzz runs on AT Proto? You can use your existing Bluesky account to log into it (no need to create another account), and then you can access a Good Reads-like social platform where you can easily find your existing Bluesky mutuals.

5/12/26, 2:33 PM

I have long loathed GoodReads so haven’t bothered using it in years, but @bookhive.buzz has got me using a reading list app again. Here’s my Bookhive profile: bookhive.buzz/profile/fain...

If you’re into books, may I suggest Bookhive, a Good Reads-like reading tracker that is easy to use, open source, runs on AT Proto and is developed by very nice people? I’ve been enjoying using it. bookhive.buzz

Yep, take a look at this record: pdsls.dev/at://did:plc... A buzz.bookhive.book record has multiple identifiers which can be extended on. Also, there is a hiveBookUri which points to a "service account" which has all of the books in bookhive stored on it: pdsls.dev/at://did:plc...

I'm a big fan of dark mode that isn't just black. This is why I love @bookhive.buzz's dark mode. Good design is important.

5/9/26, 5:40 PM

@bookhive.buzz am I misremembering, or did you do some work into figuring out how different AT services might use different IDs (ISBNs, Goodreads IDs, Open Library Edition IDs, etc.) but still be interoperable?

5/6/26, 11:37 PM

@tynanpurdy.com thanks for the great feedback on atstore.fyi/products/she...! I updated the app to use granular auth scopes, as well as auto @bookhive.buzz and @popfeed.social reading list sync. Let me know if that addresses your feedback. Notifications will have to wait for a non-SPA deployment
