really good concept but the interface is ass. Rebrand this asap.
It’s 2011 on grain and things are good again

Only thing I wish was surfaced more is backlinks
I really want to like popfeed, it's likely the best reviewing platform built on atproto. My biggest issues are two fold:
- popfeed spreads itself too thin being a review platform for tv, books, movies, games, and music. That makes navigation confusing and discovery near-impossible for me.
- because of the friction I have with discovery, it makes it feel like an inherently non-social space (for me). My hope for platforms like popfeed (and popfeed specifically because I want to see them win) is for this to be a place where I read reviews I enjoy and find people that feel like tastemakers I align with. Right now it feels like popfeed is mostly just a place for me to leave a review, share it on bluesky or somewhere else, and talk about it there.
I mean... I gotta right?
I'm someone who, although more of a lurker, really loves Are.na. When I first came across Semble, I thought it was one of the best-designed apps on atproto but didn't think it could pull me from Are.na. I was wrong. Semble's approach to community-led knowledge sharing and information mapping is unlike anything I've seen. It somehow feels like it's tailored to the needs of researchers and academics, yet still accessible to people like me, letting me benefit from that new mental model around collecting things on the web.
