That reminds me that I’ve been meaning to hop on a call with you, @meri.garden and @zicklag.dev to talk @roomy.space and identity some time hopefully soon.

Unfortunately @roomy.space doesn't store the messages on the atmosphere.

Oh this is a great idea! @burrito.space is gathering links out of User & Agents @userandagents.org Discord & putting them in Semble, this is a similar use case. Look at the @roomy.space lexicon, might be able to use that directly? They are doing Discord mirroring.
Links posted to the https://userandagents.com community.

Lmfao thankfully one of them is effectively here; @roomy.space has a PoC of it going

I just finished a progress report / summary of the arbiter server that we've been working on at @roomy.space. The goal is to have an interoperable standard for group membership management on top of the ATProto permissioned space proposal. The last couple weeks were full of progress & discussion!
Lots of implementation progress & lots of discussion with the community.

Make space, cultivate knowledge. @roomy.space is a freeform community communications platform built on the AT Protocol for group chat and collaborative knowledge management. Now listed as an AT protocol alternative to Slack and Discord: atprotoalternatives.com/product/roomy/ 🎉

@atprotoalternatives.com what about @roomy.space as a Slack/Discord alternative?
5/11/26, 4:43 PM
@there-hugo.dev hey! @exosphere.site and @roomy.space have a lot in common, especially now that a group-space standard is emerging. Let’s chat? ☺️
Oh, yeah, forgot to post our progress so far with groups. We’ve now got a deep-dive on how our “arbiter” service works. I’ll try to give a relatively short summary below. Overall Idea The goal is ...

Good list! Goal: get @leaflet.pub on here soon :) I agree in many cases folks'll need to replace Substack w/ their own *stack*…and atproto has unique strengths here! Leaflet + Bluesky ~= Substack + Notes + @stream.place live video, @roomy.space community chat, more w/ permissioned data…exciting!

@roomy.space is awesome, i know a few people doing their iwn too

Definitely agree with the interpretation here, and the rest of the post generally. "Circles" are something we are extremly interested in with @roomy.space and our "arbiter" service is designed to provide them on top of the permissioned data proposal: zicklag.leaflet.pub/3mjrvb5pul224
In this permissioned data diary, we dive deep into the URI structure for permissioned data on atproto and use it to motivate a bunch of the larger design.

That’s our whole jam with @roomy.space so let’s talk :) We’ve been chatting with a lot of folks recently (particularly in a Discord thread for now) about doing permissioned data in group contexts, which is a prerequisite for a lot of organizational work on atproto. Essentials on the forum.

I have hopes for @roomy.space!

likewise @austinrobey.xyz very excited for Subvert (set up my artist profile and gonna release something on launch day 😊) and keen to support from ATProto side if I can We run @roomy.space with most data on our own infra but with just ATProto in identity layer you can build a lot of social features

what's next for y'all? I remember chatting in Vancouver rooting for @roomy.space

We don't want to make our own discord server, but we want to be better at fostering a community. So while we wait for an amazing roomy.space experience, we're a "guest channel" in the tangled discord server! discord.gg/NVXVKVNdCj
4/28/26, 1:43 PM
@roomy.space has solutions as well. Hope to explore this space further with @tangled.org
4/25/26, 5:45 PM
I feel this, and would prefer some kind of in-between of reddit (atmo.garden) and discord (roomy.space), where it's easy to find subsets of people publicly discussing shared interests, but I can interact in my preferred style/on my own terms without encroaching on existing community
4/25/26, 10:54 AM
as for chats, you should check out @roomy.space, idk if its there mission statement, but they're essentially an early discord alternative imo. very well designed. also thanks to @graham.systems for doing some guerrilla marketing for me 😉 lol
4/24/26, 6:10 AM
Check it out @bugarela.com! github.com/zicklag/leaf... Maybe in a couple months @roomy.space will be just one of several atproto projects using @quint-lang.org to model distributed systems.

Made a little open roomy.space for anyone who wants to message to me publicly :) For when DMs are too private, and a reply doesn't make sense roomy.space/jazzkid.xyz

🙈 You can now make private (invite-only) spaces on @roomy.space! Step 1 done, step 2 on the way very soon ✨
4/22/26, 2:51 AM
for a little context, the conversation was spurred by me asking how @roomy.space will support events specifically related to how Discord handles them and Fish went digging into things 😄
4/22/26, 12:50 AM
I wonder if @roomy.space would be the right move for gathering feedback and whatnot for atproto projects. I could make one for squire and another for @drydown.social 🤔

Certes, mais beaucoup sont déjà très efficaces, notamment : - cartes.app (cocorico) - grain.social - keytrace.dev - margin.at - pds.ls - popfeed.social - roomy.space - sifa.id - stream.place - tangled.org et les moteurs de blog : - leaflet.pub - mochott.site - offprint.app - pckt.blog

@dholms.at what do you think about having a standard way to delegate storage of your permissioned repos to a service external to your PDS? For @roomy.space we are considering attempting a complete implementation of the permissioned spaces proposal so that we can test how it works in practice…
4/20/26, 4:56 PM
At @roomy.space we've been cooking up the design for the next, ATProto-native iteration of Roomy, and that includes private data on protocol! The first component that we're working on is a group membership service that we're calling the "arbiter". Here's full overview of the design so far!
The permissioned data proposal has the concept of membership, but leaves it to the app to orchestrate it. The arbiter is our idea for a general-purpose, interoperable ATProto group membership service.

And I can't recommend enough projects like @tangled.org, @npmx.dev, @openmeet.net and @roomy.space, that are building a promising future of decentralized web.
4/18/26, 12:32 PM
My @roomy.space roadmap for next few weeks: 1. Private spaces + invites 2. Permissioned channels + roles 3. Big refactor to AppView + XRPC interface / thin client 4. Push notifications all parallel to @zicklag.dev speccing and implementing an ‘arbiter’ RBAC service for ATProto permissioned spaces
4/14/26, 6:59 AM
Hi Orta, we started looking at something like this for @roomy.space - we are working on a Discord bridge - and were wondering if you have considered adding Discord as a service provider?
