Heron heron.tunji.dev lets you choose between 4 different layouts for a timeline if it's a media tab or a feed marked as media: normal, instagram-like(?), images in staggered grid, and images in grid

most of them don‘t respect labelers. i tried a lot. lots of chunky design, flux is better there. hoping @heron.tunji.dev will add labeler support soon but its literally in beta so that’s ok. skeets is often said to be best but uses app password afaict so i’m not really into trying that.

The thing about Bluesky is that you can access the network without using Bluesky's client or platform. Instead of being angry at their decisions, I recommend looking for an app that does the things you want. For instance, I use @heron.tunji.dev which already has carousels, so I'm good over here.

For Bluesky on Android, @heron.tunji.dev is AMAZING when displaying images Very customizable, good visuals and animations, it's nice I can see it being great for art as it is nice for photography

we still need an artist focused app up in here y’all. no reason you can’t just use bsky lexicon and separate ones for folders. #atprotoidea also : @flashes.blue and @heron.tunji.dev are doing more custom things like this - e.g. on flashes i have a portfolio tab just showing nice pics

Heron (@heron.tunji.dev) IS AMAZING. My only wish is that it had some of the configuration options that descend from deer.social so you could customise things for CDN, appview, constellation and/or gating.

It only shows up for media only feeds, there's two ways for a feed to be media only: 1. The media or video tabs for a profile 2. Regular feeds need to have a contentMode set like for video. There's more details in this thread, any of them would work: bsky.app/profile/hero...

pckt blog posts are posted directly to your pds. it is bluesky’s decision not to show them on your bluesky account. some other bluesky clients like @heron.tunji.dev can already display pckt blog posts natively. your pckt posts are tied to your identity, it’s just up to the apps to display it.

as in actual feeds combining them? not afaik. but yeah anisota and @heron.tunji.dev def have ability to read standard site (anisota leaflet only? idk) docs in their client.
